Scout & Cellar is this interesting story of one woman who was becoming a sommelier and getting headaches as she studied her wine. Sarah Shadonix was an attorney by day and passionate about wines by night, as she took her sommelier exams to prove her expertise! But, the headaches she was experiencing caused her to wonder what was in this wine she was drinking if it was causing such a bad effect!
Fast forward to research, and persistence and we have Scout & Cellar and Sarah founding this company on the “Clean-Crafted” wine concept for ecommerce wine sales.
What is “Clean-Crafted” wine? It is wine that is natural and most always organic and vegan and bottled consciously. But, why is that important? The FDA allows some 300 ingredients to be added to mass-produced wine, but they don’t regulate the wine industry. Some wines contain animal by-products for preservative, or egg products or shellfish! I am not the expert on the topic, but Sarah became one. She required that any wines she would offer for sale through Scout & Cellar would need to meet rigorous criteria and be independently lab-tested to ensure this quality.
Unfortunately, wineries rely on pesticides, additives and added sweeteners, which means chemically altered, completely unnatural wine is now the norm. We’re here to offer a cleaner, healthier, altogether better wine experience to everyone.
